Wells Fargo Presents Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky with $10,000 Grant

Bowling Green, KY – Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky recently received a $10,000 grant from Wells Fargo.  The Wells Fargo grant will help Junior Achievement continue to provide essential programs on work-readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship to K-12 students throughout South Central Kentucky.  The funds will specifically benefit Junior Achievement’s Financial Literacy Fitness: Preparing for Success in Adulthood program.

“Junior Achievement is very grateful to receive these vital funds at this time,” said Junior Achievement President Allie Sharp.  “Junior Achievement has continued to provide programs to students on financial literacy and economic success throughout the pandemic, and we are excited about the 2021-2022 academic year.  We are proud of our strong partnership with Wells Fargo and appreciate their commitment to the education of local youth.”

The Wells Fargo grants will help provide funding for 250 students (10 or more full classrooms) of at-risk young people to participate in specific Junior Achievement financial literacy programs. These 6–7-week classroom-based lessons will introduce a topic, engage students in lively discussions, and introduce hands-on activities bringing the concepts to life and resulting in long-term retention of the information.

Junior Achievement applied for the funding to aid them in their goal of providing proven curricula to student participants, encouraging them to complete their formal K-12 education, consider additional career-focused education, and become valued employees in their desired careers.

Through a greater understanding of local career options and employer expectations, Junior Achievement will create a pipeline of educated, skilled, and talented employees for companies in need of productive and successful team members within a global economy.
