Bring Junior Achievement to Your Classroom
Junior Achievement (JA) partners with educators to provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for success beyond the classroom. Our programs focus on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship and are available for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade at no cost to your school.
JA programs are designed to complement classroom instruction and align with Kentucky academic standards. Lessons incorporate interactive activities, real-world examples, and meaningful discussions that help students connect what they are learning in school to future careers and life opportunities.
What to Expect
Once you request a JA program, the Director of Education will work with you to determine the best curriculum for your classroom and coordinate a schedule that fits your needs.
Depending on the program you choose, JA can be delivered in one of two ways:
- Volunteer-Led: A trained community volunteer teaches the lessons while you remain in the classroom to support student learning.
- Teacher-Led: You facilitate the lessons using the same high-quality JA curriculum and materials, allowing you to teach on a schedule that works best for your classroom.
Program Length
Program length varies by grade level, but most JA experiences include:
- Elementary School: 5 lessons, approximately 45 minutes each
- Middle School: 5–6 lessons, approximately 45 minutes each
- High School: 5–12 lessons, approximately 45 minutes each
What We Provide
Junior Achievement makes implementation simple by providing:
- All curriculum and student materials
- Classroom activity supplies
- Teacher or volunteer guides
- Training and ongoing support from the JA staff
- Coordination with a trained classroom volunteer, if requested
Our goal is to make bringing JA into your classroom as seamless as possible while giving students engaging, real-world learning experiences that inspire them to dream big, plan for their futures, and develop skills they will use for a lifetime.
